Wilkerson is currently running for Spokane City Council President.

As for Council member Zach Zappone, the Washington Public Disclosure Commission is taking the extraordinary step of bringing his public hearing to Spokane. The charges stem from his use of campaign finance dollars he raised in his race for state legislature, that he shifted to his City Council campaign. Zappone recently faced a court battle over the redistricting map he submitted and was accepted by the Spokane City Council. The judge, while ruling in his favor, did admonish both his actions and the council’s actions in this case to have been inappropriate.
